Minister of Youth and Sports Nazmul Hassan has resigned as managing director of Beximco Pharmaceuticals Limited with immediate effect.
The listed company in the country’s stock market gave the information on Sunday through the website of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), according to local news portals,
Nazmul Hassan also stepped down as a member of the board of directors of the company with immediate effect as Bangladesh’s constitution does not permit a minister to hold a position in a profit-making company.
The company said it would initiate the process to find his replacement immediately.
On January 11, Nazmul Hassan took oath as a minister and got the portfolio of youth and sports ministry.
