Stocks opened on a positive note on Tuesday as the investors put fresh bets on selective stocks based on latest earnings disclosure.
Following the previous day’s positive ending, DSEX, the prime index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), went up by nearly 8 points to 6,285 after the first two hours of trading at 12:00 noon.
The DSES index, which represents Shariah-based companies, gained 1.27 points to 1,363. However, the DS30 Index, which consists of blue-chip companies, shed 0.68 points to 2,132 till then.
Turnover stood at Tk 3.07 billion till then.
Fu-Wang Food dominated the turnover list with shares worth Tk 225 million changing hands till then, followed by Eastern Insurance, Intraco Refueling and Emerald Oil Industries.
Of the issues traded till then, 104 advanced, 40 declined and 138 remained unchanged on the DSE trading floor.
The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also opened higher with the CSE All Share Price Index – CASPI – rising 7 points to 18,611 till then.
