Stocks witnessed a positive trend in early trading on Monday, the third working day of the week, with indices edging up and most company shares seeing gains.
At the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), the key index DSEX gained 13 points in the first hour of trading.
The Shariah-based DSES index advanced 5 points while the DS30, comprising blue-chip shares, rose by 4 points.
Share prices increased for most of the issues traded during the period. Of the issues traded, prices advanced for 230 companies, declined for 63 and remained unchanged for 70.
The turnover at the DSE crossed Tk 850 million during the first hour, reports UNB.
At the Chattogram Stock Exchange (CSE), the overall index increased by 6 points.
Of the 71 companies traded at the CSE, prices rose for 31, declined for 29 and remained unchanged for 11.
The turnover at the CSE crossed Tk 20 million in the first hour.
