The securities regulator has introduced an online report submission platform to facilitate the submission of market intermediaries' reports to the regulator.
Chairman of the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) Prof M Khairul Hossain inaugurated the platform at a programme at the BSEC office on Wednesday.
Representatives of different merchant banks, brokerage firms and asset management companies attended the event.
"The securities regulator has introduced the online platform to ensure compliance issues and transparency in the capital market," Prof Khairul told the programme.
He said the coverage of the online platform will be expanded gradually and that in future all reports of the market intermediaries will have to be submitted to the BSEC through this platform.
Presently, the market intermediaries such as merchant banks, brokerage firms and asset management companies submit their monthly reports via e-mails and send hard copies.
From next month, the securities regulator will not receive the reports through e-mail or hard copies.
