CSE holds 29th AGM, declares 5pc dividend

The Chittagong Stock Exchange PLC (CSE) conducted its 29th Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Thursday (Dec 4) at the Conference Hall of the CSE Building, located in Agrabad, Chattogram. The meeting was presided over by Mr AKM Habibur Rahman, Chairman of the CSE, according to a press release.

Members of the CSE Board of Directors, including Professor Dr Md. Saiful Islam, Dr Mahmud Hassan, Ms Naznin Sultana, FCA, Ms Farida Yasmin, Mr Major (Retd.) Emdadul Islam, and Mr Mohammed Akther Parvez, were present at the AGM.

Additionally, CSE Managing Director Mr M Shaifur Rahman Mazumdar, FCA, FCMA, and Company Secretary Mr Rajib Saha, FCS, attended the event.

During the AGM, CSE shareholders approved a 5 per cent dividend for the fiscal year 2023–2024.

The shareholder director election, scheduled for December 12, did not take place as one of the two candidates withdrew his nomination at the last moment. Consequently,, Mr Shahjada Mahmud Chaudhuri, Managing Director of Alpha Securities Limited, was elected as shareholder director unopposed.
