DSE begins session on positive note

The Dhaka bourse witnessed upward trend on Tuesday following investors’ increased participation.

DSEX, the broad index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), crossed 5800-point mark in the early trading.

Following a positive closing of previous session, the market opened positively and maintained the trend for half an hour.

Later, DSE broad index DSEX lost some points but stood above the day’s starting mark.

After one hour of the session, the DSEX rose to 5802.23 points with a rise of 0.30 per cent or 17.55 points.

The shariah based index DSES and blue chip index DS30 also rose marginally on the DSE.

Of the issues traded till then, 193 advanced, 64 declined, and 45 were unchanged and the turnover stood at above Tk 1.60 billion.

BEXIMCO was on top of scrip-wise turnover chart with a value of Tk 208 million followed by Delta Life Insurance, Dragon Sweater and Spinning, and LafargeHolcim Bangladesh.
