DSE falls again amid liquidity crisis

Dhaka stocks displayed the declining trend for third consecutive session as investors’ confidence is yet to be restored amid liquidity crisis.

The market started the session with a flat movement that continued for fifteen minutes. Later, the broad index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) displayed a sharp fall within one hour of the session. 

The DSE broad index DSEX lost 1.06 per cent or 60.50 points to 5645.07 points at 11:30 am.

The shariah based index DSES and blue chip index DS30 also witnessed moderate loss.

Of total issues traded, only 15 stocks advanced, while 257 issues declined and the turnover stood at above Tk 720 million within one hour of the session.

Queen South Textile Mills made a flying debut on both the stock exchanges. The company’s share price rose 191 per cent to close at Tk 29.10.

Queen South Textile Mills was in the top of scrip-wise turnover chart of the premier bourse.
