Mohd Shuhada Othman, High Commissioner of Malaysia to Bangladesh recently visited CSE head office in Chattogram.
CSE Managing Director M. Shaifur Rahman Mazumdar, FCA, FCMA, briefed the High Commissioner in detail through a presentation about CSE’s contribution, current role and future development plans, said a press release.
He expressed hope for Malaysia’s cooperation through the High Commissioner to launch a commodity platform in Bangladesh’s capital market.
He mentioned that Bangladesh is an important hub for commodity trading and one of the leading importers of Crude Palm Oil (CPO) from Malaysia. The CSE expects to launch CPO futures in commodity platform.
Malaysian High Commissioner Mohd Shuhada Othman assured CSE to provide necessary support for the development of Bangladesh’s capital market, especially the commodity market and agreed to work together for the purpose of economic growth.
At that time, First Secretary of the Malaysian High Commission in Bangladesh, Hazwan Bin Hasnol, Director of CSE, Mohammed Akhter Parvez, Major (Retd.) Emdadul Islam, Chief Regulatory Officer, Mohammed Mahadi Hassan, CFA, General Manager, Mohammed Mazbah Uddin, General Manager, Mohammad Monirul Haque and other senior officials were present.
