Today (Friday) is the last day of registering with 'invest maestros', the first ever Inter-University Capital Market Case Competition.

Bangladesh Institute of Capital Market (BICM) and Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) are jointly organising the competition.

The online registration to enter the competition closes today (Friday). Already, 113 teams have registered online. The last date for submission of the cases is, however, on Saturday.

The undergraduate and graduate level students of different universities of the country are eligible to participate in the case competition.

The BICM has already organised a number of road-shows at different universities in Dhaka to encourage the students to join the competition.

On Wednesday, three road-shows took place at Bangladesh University of Professionals, Stamford University and East-West University in Dhaka.

Students can check the website (www.investmaestros.com) for all the details of the competition.

Qualified teams will be invited to join a day-long workshop at the BICM before moving into the semi-final or second round on October 15.

Academics and experts will discuss the capital market-related issues with the competitors to make them better understand the market.

Later, eight teams will be selected from the second round for the final round and they will present their cases before a panel of judges.

The champion team will receive a cash prize of Tk 100,000, while the first and second runners-up teams will get Tk 50,000 and Tk 25,000 respectively.

Moreover, all the members of the finalist teams will get opportunities to do their internship at the BICM. The institute will also offer a free certificate course to the members of the semi-finalist team.

A gala dinner and prize-giving ceremony will take place on October 16 where finance minister AMA Muhith is likely to be present at the chief guest.

The Financial Express is a media partner of the competition.
