Stock market to resume on Monday after Eid-ul-Fitr, Pahela Baishakh holidays

Trading and official activities on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) will resume on Monday after Eid-ul-Fitr and Pahela Baishakh holidays.
The bourses remained closed for five days, from April 10 to April 14, on the occasion of the Eid-ul-Fitr and Pahela Baishakh, including weekly holidays.
Trading on the bourses will begin at 10:00 am as usual and continue until 2:30 pm, including a 10-minute post-closing session.
The DSE and CSE offices will remain open at 9:00 am and continue until 4:30 pm.
Meanwhile, stocks finished almost flat on April 9, the last trading day before Eid break, as nervous investors stayed cautious amid ongoing volatility in the market.
DSEX, the key index of the DSE, went up by 3.85 points to settle at 5,864 on the last trading day before holidays.
The DSES Index, which represents Shariah-based companies, also advanced 1.25 points to finish at 1,282. However, the blue-chip index DS30, a group of 30 prominent companies, lost 1.03 points to 2,032.
Turnover, the crucial indicator of the market, amounted to Tk 4.44 billion, which was 7 per cent higher than the previous day’s tally of Tk 4.15 billion.
The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) edged higher with the CSE All Share Price Index – CASPI –gaining 45 points to settle at 16,733 and the Selective Categories Index – CSCX –rising 22 points to 10,059 on April 9, the last trading day before Eid break.
