A vessel named MV MD SEA, carrying 12,700 metric tonnes of Atap rice, has arrived at Chattogram Port from Vietnam.
The rice was brought under the G-to-G agreement (Package-1) signed on 03 February, said a press release.
Under the agreement, a total of 100,000 MT of Atap rice will be imported from Vietnam, as per a UNB report.
So far, 60,000 metric tonnes of rice have already arrived in the country as per the agreement.
The sample testing of the rice stored on the ship has been completed, and the process of unloading the rice will begin promptly, it said.
