200 youths get entrepreneur training in Rajshahi

Around 200 young people including 80 women were given entrepreneurs development training in Rajshahi for making them competent alongside generating new employment.

Industrial Support Centre (ISC) of Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC) arranged the training during last ten months of the current fiscal.

BSCIC and ISC officials revealed this while addressing the closing and certificate-giving session of a three-day entrepreneurs development training course at ISC in Rajshahi city on Thursday. Around 50 young entrepreneurs joined the course.

Chairman of Department of Social Work of Rajshahi University Prof Sazedul Arefin, ISC Deputy General Manager Tamanna Rahman, BSCIC Regional Assistant Controller Nazrul Islam and Extension Officers Taskin Mohal and Waesh Kuruni addressed the session.

Prof Sazedul Arefin said that there is no way but entrepreneurship development training for infusing dynamism into the industrialisation process.

Such training is inevitable for building digital Bangladesh declared by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

More impetus is needed to development of entrepreneurship particularly women through small and medium enterprises (SME) financing to accelerate the economy both in rural and urban areas.

Tamanna Rahman said the BSCIC has been working relentlessly for creating self-employment through training, reports BSS.
