The 24th Annual General Meeting of Takaful Islami Insurance Ltd was held virtually on August 10, 2024, at 11:00 am using a Digital Platform.
Mrs Tahmina Afroz, Chairman presided over the meeting, while Vice Chairman Mr Emdadul Haque Chowdhury, Chairman of Audit Comittee Mr Md Mahedi Hasan, Chairman of Nomination and Remuneration Committee Mr Md Azizul Hossain, Chairman of Investment Committee Engr Khondaker Mesbahuddin Ahmed, Chairman of Risk Management Committee Mr Md Humayun Kabir Patwary, Chairman of Policyholder Protection & Compliance Committee Mr Md Khorshed Alam Khan and other Directors.
Besides, Chief Executive Officer Mr Abul Kalam Azad, Additional Managing Director Mr. Mohammad Selim & CFO Mr Mohammad Mamunul Islam and 125 Shareholders participated in the meeting, according to a press release.
The AGM unanimously approved a 10 per cent Cash Dividend for the year 2023, Directors Report, Audited Financial Statement, Auditors Report for the year ended 31st, December, 2023, appointment of M/s. ARTISAN, Chartered Accountant as Statutory Auditor and appointment of M/s. Huda Hossain & Co., Chartered Accountant as Corporate Governance and Insurers Corporate Governance Guidelines Compliance Auditor for the year 2024.
Engr Khondaker Mesbahuddin Ahmed (Representative of The Eventus), Mrs Shahanaz Parvin, (c) Mr Md Iqbal Hossain (Representative of Eastern Diagnostic OPMS) & (d) Mr Redwan Kabir were re-elected as Sponsor Directors and Mr Khorshed Alam Khan and Mr Mahmud Ali Khan (Representative of Daffodils Sign Media) were re-elected as Public Shareholder Directors in the meeting.
The Chief Executive Officer Mr Abul Kalam Azad thanked shareholders for their lively participation and wide range of suggestions and advice and assured the shareholders that their suggestions and advice shall receive due consideration from the Management for compliance and betterment of the company.
Mr Mohammad Shaheen Miah, Company Secretary of the company conducted the AGM, the release adds.
