Mohammad Abdul Awal (Sumon) has been elected as the Chairman of the Risk Management Committee of Mercantile Bank PLC at the bank's 448th Board meeting held on September 1, 2024, says a press release.
Mr Awal is the Managing Director of Synthia Securities Ltd. and the former Chairman of Express Insurance Limited. He is also involved in various financial institutions and businesses.
He serves as the Member Secretary of a nonprofit organization named the ‘Abdur Razzak & Mohammad Selim Foundation.’ Additionally, he has a strong connection with various socio-cultural activities, including Dhaka Club Ltd, Dhanmondi Club Ltd, and Gulshan North Club.
