Mr. Abu Shadat Mohammad Shahin was recently appointed as the Managing Director (MD), of IIDFC PLC.
He has 25 years of distinguished experience in the banking and financial sector and recognized for his strategic leadership and in-depth industry expertise, according to a media release.
He began his career at Arab Bangladesh Bank (AB Bank) Limited as Probationary Officer and has since held senior positions at leading institutions, including AB Bank, BRAC Bank, IPDC Finance, Midland Bank, IIDFCand Uttara Finance. He joined IIDFC as Deputy Managing Director in September 2024 and served as Managing Director (Current Charge) from April 2025 before his formal appointment.
He holds a BBA and MBA from Jahangirnagar University, completed the ACBA from IBA, University of Dhaka, and the Banking Diploma from The Institute of Bankers, Bangladesh. Mr. Shahin has also participated in numerous local and international programs on Credit Risk, Corporate Finance, MSME Financing, Loan Structuring, International Trade, Ethical Banking, Green Financing and Leadership.
He has received multiple awards for his performance throughout his career, the release adds.
