ADB-funded entrepreneur development training launched in Manikganj

A month-long Entrepreneur Development Training Program has been launched in Manikganj under the ‘Skills for Industry Competitiveness and Innovation Program (SICIP)’, implemented by the Finance Division of the Ministry of Finance with financial support from the Asian Development Bank (ADB). The program is being organized by Bangladesh Bank in collaboration with United Commercial Bank PLC (UCB).

Mr. Mohammad Wasim, Joint Director and Deputy Program Director of Bangladesh Bank, attended the inaugural ceremony as the Chief Guest. Mr. Syed Hasnain Mamun, Chief Human Resources Officer and Executive Vice President (EVP) of UCB, was present as the Special Guest. Also in attendance were the Regional Head (Dhaka North), Head of SME and Agri Banking Division of UCB, along with other officials.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, the guests emphasized the importance of developing skilled and innovative entrepreneurs to strengthen the country’s economic growth. They noted that this program will create opportunities for young entrepreneurs to gain proper knowledge, financial support, and practical training to start and expand their ventures.

A total of 25 promising new entrepreneurs are participating in this month-long training. Through the program, participants will acquire hands-on knowledge on business planning, financial management, marketing strategies, and innovation-driven enterprise management.

It is worth mentioning that, as part of a joint initiative between Bangladesh Bank and UCB, similar training programs are being organized across different districts of the country to foster local employment generation and entrepreneurial development.
