Al-Arafah Islami Bank holds day-long workshop on ready-made garments financing

A day-long workshop titled “Ready-Made Garments (RMG) Financing” was held at Al-Arafah Islami Bank on November 8, 2025, according to a press release.

Managing Director (Acting) of the bank Mohd Rafat Ullah Khan attended the program as chief guest. Deputy Managing Director Abdullah Al Mamun was also present at the event. The workshop was organized with the aim of enhancing the knowledge and skills of the Bank’s officials involved in RMG and export-related activities.

In his speech, the Chief Guest Mohd. Rafat Ullah Khan said that the ready-made garments (RMG) sector plays a vital and promising role in Bangladesh’s economy. He urged the Bank officials to take proactive initiatives for expanding new RMG business opportunities, take effective measures to recover overdue and classified investments, and ensure transparency, promptness, and strict adherence to Shariah principles in customer service.

He further mentioned that financing in the RMG sector not only contributes to the Bank’s profitability but also plays a significant role in earning foreign currency, creating employment opportunities, and accelerating the overall economic growth of the country.

The workshop was presided over by Md. Abdur Rahim Duary, Principal of Al-Arafah Islami Bank Training Institute (AIBTI). Senior executives of the Bank were present at the event, where a total of 56 officials from RMG and export-related sector participated in the training.
