AmCham executive committee meets new finance minister

The members of the new executive committee (2023-2025) of the American Chamber of Commerce in Bangladesh (AmCham) have met new Finance Minister Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali, MP, at his office in Dhaka city.

Led by newly elected AmCham President Syed Ershad Ahmed, they met the finance minister at the Secretariat to congratulate the latter on Thursday, according to a press release.

During the meeting, they had a discussion with Mr Mahmood Ali about ongoing business issues and the overall bilateral economic situation.

The new AmCham executive members also deliberated how AmCham could play a constructive role in these issues and build Bangladesh on its unique status of regional and global importance.

During the meeting, the new finance minister was also presented with the December issue of the AmCham Journal and a flower bouquet.

At the time, he made a few inspiring remarks and discussed a few aspects that might attract US entities to Bangladesh.

Mr Mahmood Ali also shared how both the sides could work closely to improve the overall foreign direct investment (FDI) and the bilateral business environment in the country.
