Aparup Chowdhury elected UCB chairman

Dr Aparup Chowdhury, Independent Director of United Commercial Bank (UCB), was unanimously elected as Chairman of United Commercial Bank PLC in the board meeting held on Tuesday at the corporate office of UCB.

Besides, Bashir Ahmed was elected as the Executive Committee Chairman of UCB, according to a press statement.

Dr Aparup Chowdhury was former Secretary to the government of Bangladesh working consistently for 37 years with progressively increasing responsibilities in field administration, policy pool of different ministries and organisations as well as corporate bodies.

Bashir Ahmed is also the Managing Director of Airmate Goodie Electrical Industries Ltd, Goodie Accessories (Pvt) Ltd, International Distribution Company Bangladesh (Pvt) Ltd, B&B Electronics, B&B Food & Beverage, B&B Electrical & Electronics, Dhaka Electrical & Electronics, Bard International Mettle Emporium, Petal Enterprise etc.
