The three-day 16th Asia Pharma Expo'-2025 has officially kicked off.
The opening started at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Center in Purbachal, Dhaka at 10am on Wednesday, according to a press release.
The event was jointly organised by the Bangladesh Association of Pharmaceutical Industries (BAPI), supported by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, and the Export Promotion Bureau.
Zakia Sultana, Senior Secretary, Ministry of Industries, was present as the chief guest at the opening ceremony.
Md Saidur Rahman, Secretary, Health Services Division; Major General Md Shameem Haidar, Director General, Directorate General of Drug Administration; and Baby Rani Karmokar, DG-1, Export Promotion Bureau, were present as special guests.
Abdul Muktadir, President of the Bangladesh Pharmaceutical Industry Association and Chairman and Managing Director of Incepta Pharmaceuticals Limited, delivered the inaugural speech of the event.
SM Shafiuzzaman, Secretary-General of the Bangladesh Pharmaceutical Industry Association, delivered the closing remarks.
Abdul Muktadir highlighted the participation of a remarkable total of 800 companies from 32 countries, including major players like America, China, England, Germany, Malaysia, India, Thailand, Italy, Japan, Switzerland, Taiwan, Ireland, and, of course, Bangladesh.
The expo features pharma processing and packaging, biotech lab equipment, API manufacturing plants and machineries, pharma formulations, and contract manufacturing.
Through this expo, domestic and foreign entrepreneurs will get to know details about various types of modern technology equipment and parts and raw materials related to the pharmaceutical industry.
The expo will continue until February 14 and will be open daily from 10 am to 6 pm.
