Auto-rickshaw registration in the country witnessed a significant rise in 2019 compared to that of 2018.
A total of 30,967 auto-rickshaws were registered in 2019 while it was 21,638 in 2018, according to Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) statistics.
Of the total, 6,839 in 2019 and 5,637 in 2018 auto-rickshaws were registered in Dhaka, the BRTA data revealed.
Besides, 9,168 such vehicles were registered in 2017, the transport regulator data showed.
