Bangladesh Venture Capital acquires ‘Alternative Fund Manager’ licence

Bangladesh Venture Capital Ltd has acquired ‘Alternative Investment Fund Manager’ Licence from the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC).

Bangladesh Venture Capital Ltd received the licence from the BSEC under Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (Alternative Investment) Rules, 2015, said a press release.

As a licence holder, Bangladesh Venture Capital Ltd (BVCL) will be able to manage the Venture Capital fund, Private Equity and Impact Fund.

The release said Managing Director of Bangladesh Venture Capital Ltd Golam Momowar Kamal expressed his gratitude to all concerned, who have extended their support to achieve the licence.

He also added that the Venture Capital Limited would give the highest value to the potential business and startups that offers solutions to an existing problem, makes a positive social impact and thus build a better Bangladesh, reports BSS.

“Bangladesh is a very perfect place for developing entrepreneurs as we have got the most talented young generation. The lifestyle of the country’s people helps them to get the leadership skills, which is a very important quality for becoming entrepreneur,” said Md Sabur Khan, Chairman of Bangladesh Venture Capital Ltd.

“Besides ensuring fund, we made collaboration with the Daffodil Business Incubator to ensure best incubation, co-working with other facilities so that entrepreneurs can explore their full potential,” he added.

BVCL’s primary aim is to meet the early stage growth fund needs of new companies in Bangladesh fostering a win-win culture for all the stakeholders.
