Bank Asia launches Scan to Cash

Bank Asia PLC has launched Scan to Cash, a QR code–based cash withdrawal service that offers a modern day alternative to traditional cheque-based withdrawals.

This fully digital solution allows customers to withdraw cash from any Bank Asia branch—without the need for a cheque or debit card, according to a media release. 

Scan to Cash delivers a fast, hassle-free, and convenient banking experience, creating benefits for both customers and the bank.

Mr. ANM Mahfuz, Additional Managing Director of the bank, inaugurated the service at Bank Asia Tower Branch, Karwan Bazar, Dhaka on 12 August 2025.

Deputy Managing Directors Mr. S M Anisuzzaman, Mr. Mirza Azhar Ahmad and Mr. Syed Zulkar Nayen, along with other high officials of the bank, were present at the inauguration event.

With Scan to Cash, a unique QR code is displayed at the cash counter in every Bank Asia branch.

To make a withdrawal, customers simply open the Bank Asia Smart App on their smartphone, scan the QR code, enter the desired amount, and authenticate using a one-time password (OTP). Once authentication is complete, the teller hands over the cash, and the customer’s account is instantly debited reflecting the withdrawal amount.

Customers are able to make up to five transactions per day, with a daily withdrawal limit of BDT 300,000, the release adds.
