Bank Asia leads open loan disbursement among marginal customers in Chapainawabganj

Under the refinancing scheme of Bangladesh Bank, open loans have been distributed among marginal customers in Chapainawabganj recently.

On this occasion, an Open Loan Disbursement Programme was organised under Tk 7.5 billion (Tk 750 crore) revolving refinancing scheme for marginal/landless farmers, low-income professionals, school banking account holders and small businessmen with accounts of Tk 10/50/100.

Bank Asia PLC organised the event as the lead bank, and other scheduled banks operating in the district, participated collectively, according to a press release.

Dr. Md. Habibur Rahman, Deputy Governor of Bangladesh Bank attended the event as chief guest.

The event was held at the Town Club Hall room in Chapainawabganj on July 3, 2025. Mr. Rup Ratan Pine, Executive Director of Bangladesh Bank and Mr. Md. Iqbal Mohasin, Director, Financial Inclusion Department of Bangladesh Bank were present as special guests.

The event was presided over by Mr. ANM Mahfuz, Managing Director (Current Charge) of Bank Asia.

At the event, a total of 2.75 crore taka loans were distributed among 221 customers, of which Bank Asia distributed 6.9 million taka loans among 116 customers.

The loans will serve the purpose of enabling the marginal entrepreneurs to expand their existing businesses and also encourage new business initiatives.

Loan disbursement programs such as these go a long way in creating both enthusiasm and excitement amongst the local people and is vital to creating a positive perception of the financial industry.
