Bankers Forum Bashundhara organizes 'Members' Day – 2026 and Reception of New Leaders of the Banking Sector'

The “Members’ Day – 2026 and Reception of New Leaders of the Banking Sector” organized by Bankers Forum Bashundhara (BFB) was celebrated with great success.

The event took place on 3 January 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Cadet College Club Ltd., Purbachal Model Town, with the objective of further strengthening mutual friendship, fraternity, and professional bonds among bankers, according to a media release. 

The Chief Guest of the program was Mohammed Nurul Amin, former Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of NCC Bank PLC and Meghna Bank PLC, and former President of the Association of Bankers, Bangladesh (ABB). His presence and guiding remarks added further dignity to the occasion.

The welcome speech and guiding discussion were delivered by Khondaker Morshed Millat, outgoing President of Bankers Forum Bashundhara. Speeches were also delivered by Md. Tareq Uddin, outgoing General Secretary; Md. Zahid Hossain, newly elected President; and A. K. Mojibur Rahman, newly elected General Secretary. The speakers highlighted the importance of future activities of Bankers Forum Bashundhara, unity, and mutual cooperation.

In recognition of recent professional achievements in the banking sector, seven new leaders were honored at the event. They were Tareq Refat Ullah Khan, Managing Director & CEO of BRAC Bank PLC; Alamgir Hossain, Managing Director & CEO of Citizens Bank PLC; S. M. Mainul Kabir, Managing Director & CEO of SBAC Bank PLC; Kimiwa Saddat, Managing Director (Current Charge) of The Community Bank PLC; Sayed Abdul Momen, Additional Managing Director of BRAC Bank PLC; K. M. Awalad Hossain, Additional Managing Director of Bengal Commercial Bank PLC; and A. K. M. Ramizul Islam, Director of Bangladesh Bank.

Members of the Advisory Council of Bankers Forum Bashundhara present at the event included Md. Abdur Rahim, former Executive Director of Bangladesh Bank, and Arfan Ali, former President and Managing Director of Bank Asia PLC.

Speakers emphasized that Bankers Forum Bashundhara is not merely a club; it is a social and family platform where bankers are united not only by professional responsibilities but also by human values, mutual cooperation, and respect.

Throughout the day, the program created opportunities for effective networking, knowledge sharing, friendly interaction, and healthy recreation. Organizers noted that the spontaneous participation, sincerity, and collective efforts of members turned the event into a disciplined, lively, and memorable occasion.
