British American Tobacco Bangladesh (BATB) bagged the top prize of ‘ICMAB Best Corporate Award-2016’ in Manufacturing (others) category for excellence in corporate governance.
Managing Director of BATB, Shehzad Munim and non-executive director (former secretary) K H Masud Siddiqui received the award from Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith at a ceremony held in a city hotel on Sunday.
BATB has been receiving the award for last couple of years in recognition of transparency, corporate good governance andresponsible business operation.
This time, The Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB) awarded 27 companies for promoting corporate governance in the country's corporate sector, said a statement.
