Bengal Islami Life Insurance inaugurates OPD Rider service

Bengal Islami Life Insurance Limited recently inaugurated the “Bengal OPD Rider (Outpatient Treatment)” service through a grand ceremony at the 3D Auditorium of Krishibid Institution Bangladesh at Farmgate in the capital.

This outpatient treatment service will be provided to Bengal Islami Life’s health takaful customers in collaboration with Milvik Bangladesh, a multinational telemedicine service provider based in Sweden, according to a media release. 

The Bengal OPD Rider service was inaugurated by the company’s Chairman Mostafa Azad Chowdhury.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Bengal Islami Life Insurance Limited’s Vice-Chairman Md. Amin Helaly, Chief Executive Officer M. M. Monirul Alam, Project Heads and senior officials of the company.

Also present on behalf of Milvik Bangladesh were Md. Shihab Uddin Chowdhury, Country Manager, Israt Mustafa, Country Lead-Product and Riaz Mostofa, Country Lead-Finance.

Through this OPD Rider service, health takaful customers of Bengal Islami Life Insurance Limited will be able to avail the benefits of outpatient medical services based on the necessary medical consultation through audio or video calls to registered doctors of Milvik Bangladesh, the release says. 

Takaful customers and their family members will be able to consult doctors of Milvik Bangladesh, Bengal Islami Life's tele-health service provider, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for medical consultation as often as necessary through mobile phones without any fees.

Under this outpatient medical facility, referral doctor's fees, medical examination bills and medicine costs will be reimbursed. Claims can be raised from anywhere, anytime by uploading the outpatient treatment bill through Milvik's app, according to the release.

The approved claim amount will be paid directly by Bengal Islami Life to the customer's bKash, Rocket/Bank account.

Through this service, one can get consultation from a general physician as well as a gynecologist, pediatrician, nutritionist and psychologist under four types of outpatient medical packages from anywhere in the country at any time and sitting at home.

This service will bring a revolutionary and positive change in the insurance sector of the country in terms of delivering medical facilities on hand, the release adds.
