Apparel sector leaders on Tuesday made a nine-point demand to the interim government including cash support of TK 19 billion for one month to pay workers' wages.
A Bangladesh Garment Manufacturer's and Exporters Association (BGMEA) delegation led by its President Khandoker Rafiqul Islam made the pleas when he met Finance advisor Dr Salehuddin Ahmed at the latter's Economic Relations Division (ERD) office in the city.
BGMEA president after the meeting said they have sought soft loans for one month as cash flow assistance.
"We have requested to provide soft loans for a month. Tk 18.0 billion to TK 19.0 billion will be needed in this connection," he said while responding to reporters after the meeting.
