Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) will develop an AI-enabled ESG compliance framework namely 'digital factory passport' to strengthen transparency, accountability, and global competitiveness across country's garment industry.

In this connection, BGMEA and Digital Bridge Partners (DBP) announced a strategic cooperation in a meeting held at the apparel apex body's headquarters in Uttara on Sunday.

The DFP will serve as a unified digital tool to streamline factory-level data management and reporting, reduce audit fatigue, and improve efficiency in sustainability performance monitoring, according to a statement.

By offering a standardised and AI-driven approach, the initiative will help factories align with international buyers' requirements and future-proof Bangladesh's position as a global sourcing hub.

Speaking on the occasion, President of BGMEA Mahmud Hasan Khan emphasised the importance of innovation and digital transformation in the sector's sustainability journey.

BGMEA Senior Vice President Inamul Haq Khan and Vice President Vidiya Amrit Khan, among others, were present in the meeting. Representatives from DBP reaffirmed their commitment to supporting the industry in achieving greater efficiency and transparency through digital solutions, added the statement.
