Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) has requested all its members to display two vertical banners at each factory's entrance and head office promoting the upcoming referendum and raising voter awareness.
On January 06, the apparel apex body in a circular made the request following an instruction from the Chief Adviser's Office on January 05.
"…the Office of the Honourable Chief Adviser has requested the President of BGMEA to print two vertical banners on their own initiative in all garment factories and display them in a prominent place in front of the units to create public awareness among the voters regarding the referendum of the 13th National Election to be held on 12 February 2026," reads the circular.
The banners, according to the circular, highlight the constitutional reforms in the referendum with messages that included "Vote 'yes' to get everything mentioned above; vote 'No' to get nothing. For change vote 'Yes'".
