Bhutan eyes import of Bangladeshi medicines, use of inland waterways

Bhutan is willing to import medicines from Bangladesh as it is of high quality, said Bhutanese premier.

Prime Minister of the South Asian country Tshering Tobgay expressed his willingness on Saturday to Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu.

Amu is now in Assam, India to join 'Advantage Assam', an international investment conference.

According to BSS, Tobgay highly appreciated Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's promise to supply medicine to Bhutan's health trust fund for the next one year.

He also expressed interest to use Bangladesh inland water ways for expansion of bilateral trade between the two countries.

Amir Hossain Amu said Bangladesh is interested to import power from Bhutan.

Bhutan and Bangladesh should work closely for expansion of bilateral trade for mutual benefits of the people of the two countries, he added.
