Biman's 46th anniversary Thursday

Biman Bangladesh Airlines, the national flag carrier, is set to celebrate its 46th anniversary on Thursday.

The state-owned airliner will make its anniversary day memorable by giving gifts to all its departing passengers from Dhaka.

The employees of the national airlines will also bring a rally in the capital and cut a cake to mark the day.

Currently, the Biman is operating flights to 15 international and all 7 domestic destinations.

Biman's Managing Director and CEO A M Mosaddique Ahmed said the airliner is going to enter a new era this year as two brand new Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners will be added to its fleet for the first time.

The Biman chief said the airliner will operate its flights to three new destinations; Guangzhou of China, Colombo of Sri Lanka and Male of the Maldives; soon.

Biman General Manager (Public Relations) Shakil Meraj said Biman earned Taka 470 million net profit during 2016-17 fiscal year, says BSS.

The airliner was founded on January 4, 1972 just 19 days after the emergence of Bangladesh.

The Biman fleet includes 4 Boeing 777-300 ER, 2 Boeing 777-800 ER, 2 Boeing 777-200 ER, 2 Dash-8 Q400 and one Airbus A330.
