“Taj” & “Vivanta” hotel brands are introduced for the first time in Bangladesh by Borak Real Estate Ltd (BREL) - a concern of Unique Group.
Unique Group is also the owning company of Unique Hotel & Resorts PLC which is the leading Hotel & Hospitality Management company in Bangladesh successfully operating Marriott International’s five star hotels - The Westin Dhaka and Sheraton Dhaka and a four star boutique hotel HANSA – A Premium Residence.
On April 17, the Hotel Management Agreement was signed by representatives from The Indian Hotels Company Ltd (IHCL) and Borak Real Estate Ltd (BREL) at Sheraton Dhaka.
On behalf of IHCL, Ms Suma Venkatesh (Executive Vice President - Real Estate & Development) and Mr. Rajendra Mishra (Executive Vice President and General Counsel) signed the agreement and on behalf of BREL, Mr Mohd Noor Ali (Managing Director, BREL) signed. During the signing Mr Rohan Ranade (Associate Vice President - Real Estate and Development, IHCL) and Mrs Salina Ali (Chairperson, BREL) was also present.
Under the Hotel Management Agreement, the top Indian Hospitality Company - IHCL (Operator) will be operating its brands “Taj” & “Vivanta” at Gulshan 2 (Dhaka) in partnership with BREL (Owner). The agreement, that was signed by both parties, will be valid for a period of 30 years.
Advocate Mr Mahbub Ali (State Minister of Civil Aviation and Tourism of Bangladesh) was present at the signing ceremony as the Chief Guest where Air Vice Marshal Mr M Mafidur Rahman (Chairman, CAAB), Mr Abdul Matlub Ahmad (Chairman, Nitol Niloy Group) and Mr Shubham Yadav (Second Secretary, High Commission of India in Bangladesh) were present as special guests, among others. The ceremony was also attended by all partners of Tata Group in Bangladesh and high officials of both BREL and IHCL.
