BRAC Bank and Sheba Merchants partner to empower SMEs through financing and technology

BRAC Bank has entered into a partnership with Sheba Merchants Limited to enable access to finance for SMEs associated with the Sheba Platform.
Under this collaboration, BRAC Bank will extend SME digital micro-loan facilities to eligible merchants registered on the platform, helping them access capital swiftly and seamlessly, according to a media release.
‘Sheba Manager’ is an integrated business management platform that supports SMEs in operating with discipline and efficiency across the digital economy. Consolidating sales tracking, inventory management, expense oversight, digital bookkeeping, and frictionless payment solutions into one platform, Sheba Manager currently serves over 100,000 customers with monthly facilitation exceeding BDT 50 lakh.
Syed Abdul Momen, Additional Managing Director & Head of SME Banking, BRAC Bank, and Adnan Imtiaz Halim, Co-Founder & CEO, Sheba Platform Ltd., signed the agreement at a ceremony the bank’s head office in Dhaka.
From BRAC Bank, Mohammad Jakirul Islam, Head of SME Strategy, Innovation & New Business; Azizul Hoq, Head of Business Transformation and Product; Khadija Mariam, Head of Women Entrepreneur Cell; and S M Ishtiaque, Head of Risk Analytics and AI Lab; and from Sheba Merchants Limited, Ahmed Rakib Uddin, Chief Executive Office, Sheba Merchants Limited; were present.
Through this partnership, both institutions aim to build an enabling ecosystem for thousands of merchants across Bangladesh by combining technological innovation with inclusive financial services. In addition to financing eligible Sheba merchants, BRAC Bank MSME customers will also gain reciprocal access to Sheba Merchants Limited’s solutions suite, the release adds.
