BRAC Bank, in partnership with the Bangladesh Open-Source Network (BdOSN), has completed two ‘Amrai TARA’ training programmes in Patuakhali and Khagrachhari, advancing its nationwide women entrepreneurship development agenda.
Across two regions, 60 emerging women entrepreneurs embarked on a three-day journey to expand their ambitions and sharpen their entrepreneurial skills, according to a media release.
The three-day programmes, held in November, brought together 30 women in each district, immersing them in a rigorous learning track that blended business fundamentals with practical, market-ready tools.
The training encompassed a range of topics, including financial literacy, digital skill-building, strategic planning, and market exploration, equipping them to adeptly navigate the ever-evolving markets.
In Patuakhali, the participants were joined by Nazmul Haq, Regional Head, Small Business, SME Division, BRAC Bank, who encouraged them to translate their new knowledge into tangible enterprise growth.
In Khagrachhari, Md. Zakarea, Senior Business Development Manager, Small Business, SME Division, engaged with the entrepreneurs and highlighted the immense potential of women-led enterprises in the Chattogram Hill Tracts.
‘Amrai TARA’ is BRAC Bank’s flagship programme for women entrepreneurs across Bangladesh, supported by the Gates Foundation. The initiative is designed to build knowledge, sharpen skills, and ensure long-term empowerment through mentorship, improved market access, and financial readiness, the release adds.
