BRAC Bank holds compliance meet for branch officials

BRAC Bank has organised a compliance meet aimed at reinforcing the importance of good governance & regulatory compliance among its branch & retail sales officials, says a press release.

The event, held in Dhaka, brought together over 130 officials from the bank's Dhaka South Region Branch Network. The primary objective was to instil a culture of good governance, transparency, accountability, and ethical banking practices across the bank's operations.

Md Imanur Hasan, Joint Director of the Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU), conducted a session on "Contemporary and Emerging AML & CFT Risks and Case Studies." His insights provided attendees with a deeper understanding of the evolving challenges in Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Combating the Financing of Terrorism (CFT), emphasising the need for stringent compliance to mitigate risks and safeguard customer deposits.

Selim R F Hussain, Managing Director & CEO; Sheikh Mohammad Ashfaque, Deputy Managing Director & Head of Branch Distribution Network; Chowdhury Moinul Islam, Deputy Managing Director & CAMLCO; M Sarwar Ahmed, Head of Internal Control and Compliance; A K M Tareq, Senior Zonal Head for North, Distribution Network; Khan Md Golam Shahriar, Senior Deputy CAMLCO; Sazia Hussain, Regional Head; Md Rabiul Islam, Head of Branch Governance; and other senior officials attended the meet held on May 03, 2025.

BRAC Bank's initiative underscores its commitment to maintaining the highest standards of regulatory adherence to mitigate risks in branch banking. By proactively educating its staff on compliance matters, the bank aims to prevent potential business risks and losses, ensuring the protection of assets of its valued customers.

BRAC Bank plans to expand the Compliance Meet programmes to other regions across the country. This expansion reflects the bank's dedication to cultivating a robust compliance culture and upholding ethical standards & establishing good governance throughout its branch banking network.
