BRAC Bank has recently organised an agent banking meeting of the Chattogram region to formulate a business roadmap for 2024 and beyond.
The daylong conference was held at a hotel in Chattogram on February 19, 2024, which witnessed the presence of 51 agent partners, agent field officers, agent relationship officers, officials of Distribution Network and SME Banking, according to a press release.
The leaders of agent banking reviewed the business performance of the year 2023 and discussed future growth strategies. The event provided a platform for attendees to exchange views, discuss business potentials and industry scenarios, share field-level experiences, address challenges, and explore ways to overcome them. The interactive meeting was organised with support from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, which provided a grant to BRAC Bank for greater financial inclusion in Bangladesh.
Nazmur Rahim, head of alternate banking channels; Kayesh Chowdhury, head of regional corporate; Imtiaz Ahmed, head of alternate delivery channel; Md Nazmul Hasan, head of agent banking; Jamshed Ahmed Chowdhury, regional head, Chattogram Region, Distribution Network, Chattogram; and senior officials were present.
Speaking at the conference, Nazmur Rahim, head of alternate banking channels, said, “The agent banking conference in the Chattogram region is the testament to our commitment to strengthening the network and driving financial inclusion. We regularly organise agent meetings in different parts of the country to formulate a comprehensive business strategy incorporating field-level suggestions. We acknowledge the dedication and commitment of agent partners and recognise their contribution to building a strong agent banking network in our pursuit of financial inclusion.”
Since its inception in 2028, BRAC Bank's agent banking has been instrumental in extending financial services to unserved and underserved people in rural and semi-urban areas of the country.
