BRAC Bank has recently organised a webinar on “Cyber Security Awareness and Prevention of Harassment” for its coworkers with support from Bangladesh Police.
Amena Begum, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Bangladesh Police, conducted the hour-long virtual session with a special focus on protecting corporate professionals, especially women, from cybercrime. An expert in cybercrime, she is also in charge of Protection and Protocol, the Special Branch of Bangladesh Police, and the President of Bangladesh Police Women Network (BPWN), according to a press release.
Khaleda Begum, Superintendent of Police (SP) of Bangladesh Police, also facilitated the session held on May 16, 2024. More than 1,000 officials of the bank took part in the event.
The purpose of the webinar was to disseminate the message of safeguard measures to tackle fraud and harassment at workplace and in personal life in a professional and effective way.

This knowledge sharing by cyber experts will assist them in mitigating potential risks, fostering a sense of security and wellness in the digital world.”

The virtual workshop focused on cybersecurity awareness, and common mistakes such as password sharing, clicking on a hoax, interacting with unknown people, etc. The facilitators also discussed government support initiatives to help women victims in cyberspace.
This cybersecurity awareness programme is a social initiative of the Police Cyber Support for Women (PCSW) by Chattogram Metropolitan Police. It is a Facebook-based platform run by the Police Headquarters of Bangladesh Police. It provides proper guidance and services for all complaints in light of the law.
