BRAC Bank has introduced a scholarship programme to support the education of employees' children with disabilities, reinforcing its commitment to inclusion, dignity, and equal opportunity.
Under the scholarship programme, BRAC Bank will provide monthly financial assistance for each eligible child. The programme was developed following an internal survey to identify employees with children with disabilities, so that support reaches those who need it most, according to a media release.
This scholarship is part of BRAC Bank's Corporate Social Responsibility strategy, designed to create meaningful and lasting impact within the organisation and the wider community.
Commenting on the initiative, Tareq Refat Ullah Khan, Managing Director and CEO of BRAC Bank, said: "BRAC Bank believes inclusion must be practised, not just discussed. This scholarship is a small but genuine step toward easing the educational path for children with disabilities and supporting our colleagues who face additional challenges every day. Our responsibility as an organisation extends beyond profits. It is about fostering a workplace and society where everyone has the chance to succeed."
One employee whose child is receiving the scholarship shared their experience, saying, “BRAC Bank made me feel truly valued, not just as an employee but as a member of its family. I neither asked for nor expected such support from my workplace. Balancing professional responsibilities with personal challenges is part of my everyday reality, yet the bank recognised the need and stepped forward with compassion—much like a guardian would.”
