BRAC Bank launches platinum multicurrency debit card under Mastercard network

BRAC Bank has launched a new Platinum Multicurrency debit card on the Mastercard network, offering customers a convenient and secure way to manage both local and international transactions.

Officially unveiled on November 23, 2025, the new card combines flexibility, safety, and rewarding features in one seamless payment solution, according to a press release.

The card works seamlessly in any currency across Mastercard’s global acceptance network, ensuring effortless travel, shopping, and payments abroad. BRAC Bank is the only bank in Bangladesh to offer a rewards programme for debit card transactions on everyday spending, both at home and overseas, making each purchase more rewarding.

In addition, the Mastercard Platinum Multicurrency TARA Debit Card—designed exclusively for women—was also unveiled at the event, offering TARA cardholders double reward points on all transactions made every Tuesday.

Equipped with NFC-enabled contactless technology, an EMV chip, and two-factor authentication, the card delivers a secure and seamless payment experience. Cardholders also enjoy access to special offers at Mastercard’s 9,500+ partner merchants, unlocking a wide range of exclusive deals. With global acceptance and premium benefits through Mastercard’s Priceless Specials platform, the card brings world-class privileges within reach.

Cardholders can also use it to subscribe to Netflix, Spotify, and Amazon Prime, and even boost posts on social media platforms.

Fully integrated with BRAC Bank’s Astha app, the multicurrency card offers QR code cash withdrawals at ATMs, QR-based payments, and complete card control through the app. Cardholders can also gain access to exclusive discounts worldwide at partner merchants.

The launch ceremony was attended by Gautam Aggarwal, President, South Asia, Mastercard; Syed Mohammad Kamal, Country Manager, Bangladesh, Mastercard; Md. Mahiul Islam, Deputy Managing Director and Head of Retail Banking, BRAC Bank; along with other senior officials from the bank.
