BRAC Bank has partnered with bKash Limited to provide automated cash management services for the mobile financial service provider’s nationwide network of agents, distributors, and merchants.
Tareq Refat Ullah Khan, Managing Director and CEO (Current Charge) of BRAC Bank, and Kamal Quadir, Chief Executive Officer of bKash, were present at the agreement signing ceremony held on 28 May 2025 at BRAC Bank’s head office. Syed Abdul Momen, Additional Managing Director and Head of SME Banking at BRAC Bank, was also present, according to a press release.
With this partnership, bKash agents and distributors who have accounts with BRAC Bank can now seamlessly purchase e-money for their bKash wallets using funds from BRAC Bank’s SME current accounts and convert the e-money into bank deposits at any time, eliminating the need for manual cash handling and reducing operational risk.
The collaboration aims to benefit bKash’s network of over three lac agents and distributors across Bangladesh.
This initiative enhances BRAC Bank’s digital transaction capabilities and aligns with its focus on innovation in SME banking. It is another step towards the bank’s goal of becoming the most preferred transaction bank in the country.
Syed Abdul Momen said, “As financial transactions become increasingly digitised, our role as a transaction bank must evolve to match the pace and scale of customer needs. This partnership is a strategic move to strengthen our digital infrastructure and help businesses transition from manual to automated processes with greater ease.”
Kamal Quadir stated, “We are working to create a cashless, connected economy where agents and businesses can manage funds with speed, security, and simplicity. Partnering with BRAC Bank adds strength to that vision by enabling digital transactions through a trusted banking channel.”
