BRAC Bank, in collaboration with United Hospital, organised a day-long health camp and awareness session on fatty liver prevention and treatment.

The event took place on May 21, 2025, at the bank’s Head Office in Dhaka, aiming to promote health awareness among coworkers and their families, according to a media release.

The health camp featured two key awareness sessions led by expert medical consultants.

Chowdhury Tasnim Hasin, Chief Clinical Dietitian, shared expert advice on ‘Diet to Prevent Fatty Liver,’ emphasising the importance of nutrition in managing liver health, the release says.

Dr. Iftikhar Imam, Junior Consultant in Gastroenterology, conducted a session on ‘Fatty Liver – Symptoms, Complications, and Management,’ providing valuable insights into the implications of having fatty liver on overall health and its prevention.

In addition to the educational sessions, the health camp offered free consultations and basic medical tests, including general medical check-ups, specialised check-ups for pregnant women and new mothers, and personalised nutrition plans.

Employees also benefited from essential health screenings, such as blood sugar, blood pressure, height and weight measurements, and BMI assessments.

The initiative aimed at raising awareness about liver health and empowering coworkers with the knowledge and resources needed to make informed health decisions. Feedback from participants highlighted the importance of such initiatives in promoting a culture of health and wellness within the workplace, the release adds.

Commenting on this people-centric initiative, Akhteruddin Mahmood, BRAC Bank’s Head of HR, said, “We are committed to the health and well-being of our coworkers. This health camp is a testament to our dedication to providing our coworkers with the resources and knowledge they need to lead healthier lives. We thank United Hospital for their partnership in making this event successful."
