BRAC Bank has incorporated artificial intelligence-based technology to conduct the initial screening of candidates for its Young Leader Programme (YLP), which has added a new dimension to its sustainability profile.

The bank achieved a record in Bangladesh by arranging an online examination of over 50,000 candidates during the onboarding process for the 2023 batch without using any paper, according to a press release.

To ensure an efficient and effective process, the bank employed AI-equipped features to monitor the behaviour of candidates during the exam, thereby detecting any undesirable activities and maintaining the assessment standard. The use of AI has allowed the bank to assess a large number of candidates effectively and fairly, resulting in accurate, reliable and unbiased outcome.

BRAC Bank's Young Leaders Programme is a highly sought-after fresher recruitment programme that hires graduates from various disciplines of diverse universities nationwide. YLP is well-known for providing intensive development opportunities and fast-track career progression, making it the most sought-after programme in the banking industry. The bank's commitment to people-care initiatives, ethics, transparency, brand value, and good corporate governance has made it the preferred employer among the country's youth.

According to Head of Human Resources Akhteruddin Mahmood, the bank's decision to use AI-equipped online test for the Young Leaders Programme demonstrates its dedication to leveraging technology to attract the best-fit talent for the Bank. By using innovative approaches to talent acquisition, BRAC Bank has attracted right-fit talents, setting the stage for continued growth and success in the future, Mahmood said. AI technology has enabled the bank to reach out to candidates in remote areas of the country, upholding its promise of an inclusive approach, he added.
