The Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) on November 25 will hold a public hearing to receive opinions, complaints, questions and recommendations from consumers, service providers, professionals and other stakeholders regarding the performance of telecommunication services and the regulatory authority itself.

According to a public notice issued by the BTRC, the hearing will begin at 10:00 am at the BTRC headquarters in the Agargaon Administrative Area, Dhaka, and will be conducted via an online platform. Interested participants have been requested to register online by 19 November through the link provided by the commission.

Only those whose submissions are relevant to the subject matter will be allowed to join the session, for which the necessary login credentials will be sent by email and SMS.

During these sessions, the Commission typically receives complaints about call drop issues, mobile data quality, unwanted SMS, poor broadband service, and SIM registration problems.

At the previous hearing held in December 2022, the Commission received over 1,500 complaints, mostly related to mobile internet speed and customer service. Operators were directed to improve network coverage and ensure fair billing practices.
