BWCCI, CIPE jointly organise awareness raising workshop on gender-based violence at workplace

Bangladesh Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BWCCI), with the support of the Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE), organised an event titled ‘Awareness Raising Workshop on Gender Based Violence at the Workplace’ on Tuesday at the Lakeshore Heights, Gulshan-1, Dhaka.
The workshop was presided over by Selima Ahmad, President of BWCCI, according to a media release.
Barbara Langley, Director, CIPE was the Chief Guest of the workshop, while Sangita Ahmed, Senior Vice President, BWCCI, Sabina Alam, Vice President, BWCCI and Ridma Khan, Director, BWCCI were the discussants of the programme.
Shaila Parvin Pia, Advocate-Bangladesh Supreme Court was present as a resource person.
Other four board of directors and 23 general members participated in the workshop, the release says.
A brief presentation on gender-based violence at the workplace and an open discussion were held, followed by a short question-and-answer session where the women entrepreneurs participated.
All the participants were advised to raise awareness on gender equality in society and at the organisational level, the release adds.
