The fourth edition of Ceramic Expo Bangladesh 2025 will begin on Thursday at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in the city, bringing together some of the world's leading ceramic manufacturers, technologists and buyers.
Organised by the Bangladesh Ceramic Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BCMEA), the four-day exhibition is expected to draw significant international attention.
Organisers announced that this year's event will host 135 organisations and 300 brands from 25 countries, alongside around 500 international delegates and buyers.
The expo will serve as a platform for showcasing the latest raw materials, machinery, advanced technologies and finished ceramic products from across the globe.
With participation from major global players and growing interest from investors, the expo highlights Bangladesh's rising prominence in the ceramic sector and its ambition to expand further in global markets.
BCMEA President Moynul Islam, speaking at a press briefing at the Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) on Sunday, said this year's expo is expected to be inaugurated by Commerce Adviser Sheikh Bashir Uddin.
Foreign Affairs Adviser Mohammad Touhid Hossain is scheduled to attend a special session on Saturday next as chief guest.
Highlighting the steady growth of Bangladesh's ceramic sector, Mr Moynul said that the country now has more than 70 ceramic tableware, tiles and sanitaryware factories, with an annual domestic market valued at around Tk 80 billion.
Over the past decade, investment and production have increased by nearly 150 per cent, he added.
He said major global players, including China and India, are showing growing interest in investing in Bangladesh's ceramic industry, which has so far attracted investments worth Tk 180 billion and created employment for nearly 0.5 million directly and indirectly.
Fair Committee Chairman Irfan Uddin said Bangladeshi ceramic products are gaining greater global acceptance due to improved quality and innovative designs.
He described Ceramic Expo Bangladesh as not only the largest ceramic exhibition in Asia but also a platform where manufacturers, exporters and suppliers can showcase innovations, modern technologies and new products.
He added that technologies such as automation, advanced digital printing, robotic handling and next-generation production lines are set to transform the industry's future.
The exhibition will remain open to visitors free of charge from 10am to 6pm every day from November 27-30.
