Chinese airlines starts new freighter service with Dhaka

Chinese express operator SF Airlines has added a new freighter service between Changsha, China, and the capital of Bangladesh, Dhaka, to cater for general cargo and perishable demand.

The airline said the first flight took place on August 5 utilising a Boeing 757-200F aircraft, reports www.aircargonews.net/.

The carrier said the route is the fourth international service it has launched in 2019 and the third direct route between China and Dhaka.

“Targeting mainly at general cargo and fresh products, the new route will help to stimulate the trading between central China and Bangladesh and facilitate the in-depth development of the country’s Belt and Road Initiative once it is operated on a regular basis,” said SF Airlines.

In recent years, SF Airlines has successively launched direct freight routes from Kunming and Nanning to Dhaka.

Since its maiden flight in 2009, SF Airlines has developed an airfreight network to more than 60 cities and regions while being based in Shenzhen, Hangzhou and Beijing.

The company has also expanded its service coverage from China to east Asia, central Asia and south Asia.

Last week, the company took delivery of its 30th B757-200F aircraft.

In total, SF Airlines’ total fleet now stands at 57 aircraft after it recently received its second B747 Freighter.
