City Bank on Thursday launched the 'City Bank American Express Platinum Reserve Credit Card', the first American Express metal card in Bangladesh.

The new product is a by-invitation-only card, offering personalised services, international travel benefits, exclusive savings, and premium rewards aimed at meeting evolving needs of consumers.

Top officials of the bank, including Chairman Aziz Al Kaiser, Managing Director and CEO Mashrur Arefin, AMD and CFO Md. Mahbubur Rahman, DMD and Head of Retail Banking Arup Haider, and Head of Cards Tauhidul Alam, were present among other senior officials at the launching ceremony at a city hotel.

Speaking on the occasion, Aziz Al Kaiser said City Bank's commitment to delivering the best to its customers is reflected through the launch of the American Express Platinum Reserve Credit Card.

This card redefines premium experiences in Bangladesh, offering access to premium travel and lifestyle, he said. It sets a new benchmark, reflecting the shared excellence between City Bank and American Express, added Mr Kaiser.

City Bank CEO Mashrur Arefin said the launch of the new card is a testament to their endeavour to ensure customers' satisfaction. "The form factor being in metal is not much of a difference to me. What's different is the century-old commitment of Amex to its customers," he said.

Divya Jain, VP & GM, Global Network Services, Asia and South Pacific Growth Markets of American Express said the card is more than just a payment solution, rather it is designed for individuals who value premium experiences and convenience.

"The City Bank American Express Platinum Reserve Credit Card caters to the evolving aspirations of card members, reaffirming our commitment to delivering not just financial benefits, but a lifestyle that is truly extraordinary," she said.

The event was told that the new product offers a variety of lifestyle-aligned rewards, including an exclusive Tk 20,000 welcome gift voucher and a complimentary two-year premium membership. The membership provides access to premium benefits at boutique luxury hotels and select international brands.

Cardholders will also receive complimentary Priority Pass membership, with unlimited access to over 1,700 airport lounges worldwide for themselves and two guests. Additionally, they will enjoy a 10 per cent discount on Fastrack VIP Meet and Greet services at airports.

Other perks include complimentary enrollment in the 'SIXT' Rent a Car loyalty programme, featuring priority counter service, discounts, and free upgrades. SIXT is an international mobility service provider with about 2,000 locations in more than 100 countries.

Each cardholder would avail a dedicated Relationship Manager to assist with their account. Furthermore, the card features a real-time auto-debit facility for seamless transactions and enables users to earn up to 10 times membership rewards points at select merchants.

The card also includes exclusive dining privileges, such as curated culinary experiences at restaurants in multiple countries and a "Buy 1 Get 2" complimentary buffet offer at leading five-star hotels across Bangladesh.
