Bangladesh’s first mobile network operator Citycell has sought reinstatement of its licence eight years after cancellation.
The operator recently sent a letter to the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) in this regard.
Cancellation of the spectrum of Citycell on allegations of failure to pay dues on time led to the closure of its operations in 2016.
Regarding the cancellation, Citycell said the BTRC made 'arbitrary decisions and assessments' with 'biased, ulterior and ill motives' against its parent company Pacific Bangladesh Telecom Limited (PBTL).
