Community Bank launches charge-free special deposit products for NRB customers

Community Bank Bangladesh PLC has introduced two charge-free special deposit products—“Community ProbashShonchoy” and “Community ProbashPriojon”—designed for Non-Resident Bangladeshis (NRBs) and families dependent on expatriate income.
The launch was announced at the Bank’s Annual Business Conference, according to a press release.
The newly launched products aim to provide secure local-currency savings and investment solutions for expatriate earnings, complemented by a range of attractive value-added benefits. These offerings have been developed to address the evolving financial needs of NRBs as well as Bangladeshi residents who receive remittances from family members working abroad.
In the presence of Mr. Md. Akram Hossain, BPM (Sheba), Additional Inspector General of Bangladesh Police (Finance) and Director of Community Bank; Mr. Ahmad Muyeed, BPM (Sheba), Additional Deputy Inspector General and Director of Community Bank; and Mr. Syed Rafiqul Haq, Independent Director of the Bank, the two products were inaugurated at the conference by KimiwaSaddat, Managing Director (Current Charge) of Community Bank Bangladesh PLC. Product Heads, Divisional Heads, and senior officials of the Bank were also present on the occasion.
In his address, KimiwaSaddat stated that the introduction of these products further strengthens Community Bank’s strategic focus on expanding remittance-based banking services, advancing financial inclusion, and delivering innovative and customer-centric financial solutions.
SKPervesMaraker, Head of Agent Banking, Foreign Remittance, Transaction Banking & SBU stated that Community ProbashShonchoy is a savings account exclusively designed for Non-Resident Bangladeshis. The product offers a secure, efficient, and convenient channel for remitting foreign earnings to Bangladesh while facilitating savings in local currency. In addition to standard banking features, it provides exclusive privileges and value-added services aligned with the financial requirements of NRBs.
Commenting on Community ProbashPriojon, he added that the product is a specialized savings and investment solution developed for families receiving expatriate income. It enables customers to securely save and manage a portion of remitted funds in local currency, thereby supporting long-term financial planning and stability.
Under both products, customers will enjoy complimentary life insurance coverage of up to BDT 250,000, charge-free account facilities, competitive profit rates, and discount benefits at more than 500 hospitals and diagnostic centres across Bangladesh, according to the organizers.
